Google has officially launched the much-awaited Gmail Q&A for iOS devices, powered by Gemini AI, bringing enhanced email management capabilities to users.

Initially rolled out on Android, this feature is now available for iOS, providing users with smart responses, inbox summaries, and personalized insights.

What is Gmail Q&A for iOS?

The new Gmail Q&A feature enables iOS users to ask Gemini AI-specific questions about their inbox.

It can identify unread emails, and messages from specific senders, and even summarize topics based on your emails.

How to Use Gmail Q&A for iOS

To start using Gmail Q&A, iOS users will need to open the Gemini feature in the Gmail app. Simply tap the black Gemini star at the top right or use the “summarize this email” chip available within the inbox.

For now, the feature is limited to retrieving information from your inbox, but Google has announced plans to extend its functionality to include Google Drive data in the future.

Language and Availability

Currently, Gmail Q&A is only available in English, with Google planning to expand language support over time.

  • Enterprise
  • Education
  • Education Premium
  • Google One AI Premium

Google has stated that the rollout will occur over the next 15 days, so iOS users should gain access by mid-October 2024. As of now, the feature is not available on desktops or tablets.
