New Delhi surgeons today conducted a live bariatric surgery using the Apple Vision Pro learn how the procedure was carried out and how the device played a role during the operation.

The new product from Apple, which is a virtual reality headset called Vision Pro is once again in the news having been applied to bariatric surgery for the first time.

While this technology has made other contributions to the healthcare arena, it now presents a larger context of how such an apparatus can be used in addressing enhanced medical needs.

Dr. Mohit Bhandari from New Delhi’s Pristyn Care performed an operation with help from Vision Pro goggles.

Apple Vision Pro used for bariatric surgery

In New Delhi, Pristyn Care and Mohak Bariatrics & Robotics surgeons yesterday performed their first-ever live bariatric surgery by using Apple Vision Pro.

The surgeries included sleeve gastric bypass and Single Anastomosis Duodenal-Ileal (SADI) which were both done by Dr Mohit Bhandari. According to reports he weighed 155 kilograms with sleep apnea syndrome and high blood pressure.

The whole process took place on May 17th and lasted for around 40 minutes where doctors had access to the 3D environment provided by Apple Vision that had all the required information to perform this operation perfectly well.

According to NDTV, “The successful fusion of Apple Vision Pro into bariatric surgery is an important milestone in our odyssey towards revolutionizing surgical procedures.

We take pride in being the leaders of such a technology which promises precision, better outcomes, and standards that surpass those existing.

”Dr, Bhandari who performed this operation said that it’s through technology like the VisionPro headset that we have more “possibilities in surgical precision and patient outcomes.”

Notably, mixed realities are continuing to change the health sector as evidenced from many new reports about what Apple Vision Pro has done for medical and surgical operations.

The Vision Pro headset recently participated in a laparoscopic surgery in Chennai. In Great Britain, consultants deployed it when they were doing a major spine treatment among other occasions since its release.
