The smartphone company Google has officially launched its foldable smartphone, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, globally, including in India.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold was officially launched in India on Tuesday along with the Google Pixel 9 series which includes Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes in obsidian and porcelain color options.
The smartphone is powered by Google’s Tensor G4 chipset and paired with a single 256GB internal storage in India. It has an 8-inch LTPO OLED inner display with a 6.3-inch OLED cover display and a 4650mAh battery that supports 45W fast wired charging.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold Price in India
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold price in India is set at Rs. 1,72,999 for the (16GB of RAM + 256 GB) internal storage variant. It will be available in obsidian and porcelain colorways.
The Indian variant of the smartphone will be available in a single 256 GB storage configuration. The direct competition of the Pixel 9 Pro fold is the OnePlus Open, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Vivo X Fold, and more.
The smartphone company says the Pixel 9 Pro fold will be available for sale on August 22. Like its previous model, it will be available exclusively on Flipkart and offline retail stores like Croma and Reliance Digital.

Display
The newly launched Pixel 9 Pro Fold from Google features an 8-inch LTPO OLED Actua Flex inner display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, a 2,076×2,152 pixels resolution, and 2,700 nits of outdoor peak brightness.
On the other hand, it features a 6.3-inch OLED cover display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a 1,080×2,424 pixels resolution, and 2,700 nits of outdoor peak brightness. The display is protected with Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Internals
The smartphone is powered by Google’s Tensor G4 based on a 4nm chipset paired with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold runs on Android 14 with 7 years of software updates and security and Pixel Drop updates.
The foldable smartphone has a 4650mAh battery that supports 45W fast wired charging and Qi wireless charging. The company claims 24 hours of battery life and 72 hours of battery life with power-saving mode on.

Camera
For the optics, the Pixel 9 Pro fold comes with a triple rear camera setup. It comes with a 48-megapixel (f/1.7) wide-angle sensor, a 10.5-megapixel (f/2.2) ultra-wide sensor with autofocus, and a 10.8-megapixel (f/3.1) telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom and 20x Super Res Zoom.
For the front, the inner display of a foldable smartphone has a 10-megapixel (f/2.2) sensor, and the cover display also has a 10-megapixel (f/2.2) sensor for selfies and video calls.
The camera setup comes with some features for Google’s phones, like hands-free astrophotography, frequent faces, video boost, wind noise reduction, macro focus video, magic editions, and more.
Connectivity and sensors
For connectivity, the smartphone has 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, ultra-wideband (UWB), and a USB 3.2 Type-C port.
For sensors, the smartphone has an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, e-compass, barometer, and proximity sensor.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, as well as a face and fingerprint sensor for security.
