As suggested by earlier leaks on Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the smartphone will drop the quad rear camera setup for a new triple rear camera setup indicating that there could be a complete overhaul of the cameras.
The rumors have it that Samsung is experimenting with a new camera setup which might impact the telephoto sensor of next year’s Galaxy S25 Ultra.
This would surprise many S-series fanatics who have anticipated this model ever since it emerged as one of the best-selling gadgets in the previous lineup, the Galaxy S24 series.

It was noted that instead of having four, one being ultra-wide-angle and other main sensors along with a periscope lens for optical zooming capacity like in its predecessor this phone can have just three back cameras.
Reportedly, these are 3x telephoto lenses with an ultra-wide angle lens and also a periscope unit that enables optical zoom.
Samsung may intend to remove completely 10MP 3x Optical Zoom Telephoto Sensor from next year’s Galaxy S25 Ultra as an indication of a major hardware shift.
Reports suggest that the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s new camera system will include enhancements to both its 200MP main camera and 12MP ultra-wide camera.
This means that the periscope lens was not specified because it is under test with a “ large sensor and variable zoom.”
This started by indicating that the periscope lens is in prototype testing using two fixed focal lengths of either between 4x to 5x zoom and the other about 6x and 7x.
However, please note that this test is being carried out on a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra prototype so, if any such things happen there may be many changes along the way.
Yet, there are still several months left until we grasp what the next-generation S-series smartphone from Samsung has in store for us.
However, one can already tell that probably Galaxy S25 Ultra of next year will have some new cameras as well as features.
